This pottery was brushed with slip clay harvested from behind our pottery studio, brushed onto the white clay while Joel Cherrico was throwing it on the pottery wheel. Sienna then carved the design into the side of this art when it was 'leather hard', a consistency where it's not completely dry yet. Sienna displays her love of the prairie grasses & the simple form of "plants" that surround the studio on pottery you can enjoy in your home. This style of pottery also has a unique signature, dedicated to our collaborative art. All of our Stoneware and porcelain pottery is completely non-absorbent. This planter also has a hole in the bottom, roughly 1.5 inches wide, for drainage. The tray is high-fired, vitrified and non-absorbent.
