We have a favorite ice cream shop in town called Jupiter Moon and we were inspired to create these bowls. One exterior side of these bowls is inspired by moon and asteroid surfaces. The second side was fired on it's side in the kiln to create the horizontal drips of glaze representing the planet Jupiter.
The interior glaze is our studio-made Oil Spot glaze, which is meant to bring to mind the vast, inky blackness of space. Half of the bowl has nuka on top of the oil-spot creating a speckled blue. This pot is great for ice cream as well as holding many other foods or treasures.
