Imperfect/Flawed/Discount Pottery

Pottery "flaws" are like scars in our skin. They will never change, but they are permanent and reflect the story of creation.

This category includes pottery that Joel Cherrico set aside as "seconds" because they were not up to our highest quality standards. Some were glaze tests. Others are just older post that Joel Cherrico is ready to part with. Most have a large number of imperfections, like small cracks from the drying process, like "s" cracks from hump throwing. But all are functional, non-toxic, dishwasher safe and will never change. 

'Imperfect/Flawed' means that this pottery is 100% functional; dishwasher, microwave and oven safe, but there is a visual or textural flaw. There is an element to the piece that is distracting, sharp, has a drying crack or other imperfection, warranting a discount. These flaws happened during the drying or kiln firing. Therefore, they are permanent and will never change. Because they are still 100% functional and safe for food/drink, Joel decides to offer them at a steep discount.

Blue tape is added onto every pot during the "sanding and inspecting" process by Joel Cherrico, that happens with every pot post-kiln firing. Remove your blue tape, wash your pottery, and it is functional and ready to use and enjoy.
