Planters
Joel Cherrico begins by throwing these planters with white Stoneware clay on his pottery kickwheel. Then, he brushes the planters with the dark clay harvested from the land behind the Cherrico Pottery studio, naturally glazing the pots with dark, rustic color contrast.
After drying overnight, Sienna Cherrico chooses a small selection of planters to carve her designs into the soft clay. "Sienna's Nature Designs" are inspired by local Minnesota grasses and flowers.
All planters are made with a roughly 1" diameter drainage hole, and each sits on top of a water catch tray. All were kiln fired to 2,200 degrees F, and are therefore completely vitrified and non-porous.
