Bill Nye (The Science Guy) also mentioned Cherrico Pottery on StarTalk Radio a few weeks back! The StarTalk Radio Podcast rules- it’s one of my favorites to stream while working in the studio. During their, “Maker Edition” of Cosmic Queries, I submitted a question about STEM vs. STEAM. It was chosen and read on the podcast 55 minutes in! I can still remember watching Bill Nye in 7th grade science classes. Hearing him talk about art and pottery was mind blowing!

Random Cosmic Mugs

Great photography is tough and takes a long time. We shoot high quality photography for only the best Cosmic Mugs for our store- the jewels, which you can always find here. However, right now we have a surplus of unphotographed, random Cosmic Mugs that are different for these reasons:

Some have less vibrant, darker colors.
Some have gorgeous colors but strange glaze texture flaws.
They vary widely in shapes and sizes from 13-20 ounces.

All are 100% functional and good mugs, but I don’t have the heart to either smash them or charge full price. If you are okay with being surprised by a totally random Cosmic Mug, then this listing is for you:

New Pottery: Cosmic Ambitions, Japanese Traditions

The first Moon mugs and asteroid cups have emerged from the kiln…

Plus, remaining Kickstarter pottery has been thrown. Most pots are glazed and ready to fire, but I must procrastinate for just a couple more weeks. I was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to Japan to visit traditional pottery studios, Tokyo galleries and Mount Fuji- all before building my own studio.

Renowned potter Shiho Kanzaki is welcoming us in for a tour of his studio. We’re also visiting Mashiko– a famous town of over 20,000 people who are mostly potters!

New Pottery: Online Store Revamp

We hired skilled photographer Julia Echart to redesign our online store. In 2-3 weeks, we will have a new body of artwork on our gorgeous, new website, with discount coupons given only through this email newsletter.
